5 tips to improve your productivity and health

Each of us will agree that life can be very hectic. Endless deadlines, piled-up dishes in the sink, caring for your little brother. Because of all this, and not only for you, the question arises: "Why are there only 24 hours in a day?"

In truth, not many of us are wasting our time wisely. Most likely, too much time is spent on VKontakte, Facebook, Twitter or some other social network. And I'm sure you got distracted by this article while you were working. This is why I provide tips to help you improve your productivity and health. I am sure that each of you will be able to benefit from this article. So, here are 5 time management tips to help you 24 hours a day.

1. Use

For some, using lists is a great way to increase productivity. Most of the time, however, people create lists in general. Since a to-do list can be a useful tool, I prefer to supplement it with a few more to-do lists (split into parts). Here are some examples.

A. List ""

Write down the 3 most important tasks that need to be completed. I prefer to divide them into 3 different categories: the first is work, the second is health, and the third is all other tasks. For example, here's how it might look:

  1. Write the first draft of the article
  2. Make a 30 minute
  3. Buy a gift for Sarah

The goal here is to finish 3 tasks by evening, and 2 tasks should be completed before lunchtime. Using this checklist will ensure that even if your productivity level is very low, you will complete the 3 most important tasks in one day.

B. Don't Do List

This list is very simple. All you have to do is write down 3 that are preventing you from completing your tasks. Hang a reminder sheet on your wall or computer, and try not to follow any of your habits on the list. Example:

  1. I won't check my mail first thing in the morning
  2. I will not go to VKontakte while I am writing an article
  3. I won't get up until I finish my job in 30 minutes.

The key point is that you need to set a specific time for this sheet. By doing this, you get a clear picture of how you are. This will greatly improve your productivity.

2. Turn off notifications on your smartphone and tablet

With the advent of smartphones and tablets, accessing social media has never been easier. However, this convenience can. For most people, it is very difficult to concentrate because they are. They receive a Facebook notification every 10 minutes. If left on, you may be distracted. So by turning them off, you won't be distracted until you get the job done. If you wish, you can go a step further and uninstall social media apps from your phone.

3. Using specific programs and applications

While social media apps are potentially dangerous to productivity, there are apps and programs that can help you manage your time. Sometimes, even if you have iron willpower, it is difficult to resist constantly updating your news feed. If this is your problem, then here is a possible solution.

A. (Win) & (Mac)

This is a program for your computer that restricts access to popular social networks that may distract you. There is also a function that will allow you to add certain sites to the whitelist or, conversely, restrict them. The beauty is that if you are not a genius hacker, then it is almost impossible to bypass the blocking. In this case, you may have to do something from the list of tasks.

B. Self Control (Android)

This application allows you to use other applications only for the period of time that you have installed. Despite the same name, this application is completely different from the Mac program of the same name.

C. Focus @ Will

This app plays scientifically selected music to help you focus. It definitely helped me. And the music is very soothing. There is also a free version!

4. Take breaks

Time management doesn't just mean working. … In fact, taking breaks between work is a great way to increase your productivity. Working on something for too long is not the most efficient way to use your time.

Instead of sitting and pulling your hair out, it's worth taking a break. This is a good way to reboot. I take a 10 minute break every 50 minutes of work. During the break, you are free to do whatever

Doing some exercise is a good idea. You can unload your brain by watching some funny video or by reading Twitter or Facebook. Just do what will allow your brain to rest. This will help you stay awake.

5. Get enough sleep

Sleep - when it comes to productivity and health. People who don't get enough sleep are more likely to get obesity or various diseases. Not the best way to be productive. Truth?

… Also, a 20-30 minute nap is a good way to ward off tiredness. Optimizing your sleep is the easiest way to start leading a healthy and productive life.

Since it's so easy, start doing it now!
