Instagram is once again trying to take the best Snapchat tricks and beat the messenger on its own field. From this day on, the largest social network for photo and video sharing begins to introduce ephemeral messages and video broadcasts.

The Instagram Stories feature is receiving its second major update in the past few weeks. Last time there was a Boomerang mode - the ability to tag friends on photos, as well as share links.

You can now broadcast live video in Stories. To do this, simply tap one button. In order not to broadcast into the void, users will be able to set up notifications about the start of the broadcast for their followers. During viewing, viewers have the opportunity to communicate with the author of the stream, as well as among themselves through comments. Separately, it should be noted that broadcasts disappear immediately after completion. This is how Instagram is earning the title of the most ephemeral online streaming platform.

Another new Instagram feature is disappearing messages. This feature is almost completely copied from Snapchat and is also available in the "Stories" section. At the moment, the new features are only available to a select few Instagram users on iOS and Android, but should be open to everyone within a few weeks.
