The extension works in a simple way: it removes styles, ads, toast notifications, and comments from the page. There remains only what the reader comes to the site for in the first place - the text and images related to it.
You can change the style of the page from which you read articles or news. By clicking on the brush icon in the upper right corner of the screen, you can adjust the font size and page width, as well as select the colors of the text, background and links. Advanced users can edit CSS styles and themes on GitHub.
The extension can be configured to be automatically enabled on certain sites. To do this, right-click on the Just Read icon, click Options and add the site to the Auto-run domain list. So you can immediately open your favorite articles in a convenient format. However, it should be borne in mind that the extension is intended only for viewing text, so the main pages of sites may be displayed incorrectly.
By clicking Select text to read on the Just Read icon or using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + K, you can select a separate part of the text to read. The function is useful if the site is cluttered with ads and the button to automatically switch to reading mode does not give the desired result. And using the buttons Ctrl + Shift +; you can select unwanted content and delete it.
The developer is positioning the extension as a more advanced replacement for the no longer working Clearly from Evernote. Just Read is an open source project, so we can assume that it will be constantly improved.
