Today we offer you to try a very unusual dessert - aromatic bread. There are three simple recipes to choose from: banana bread with oatmeal, apple bread with oatmeal and nuts, and spicy pumpkin bread with raisins. All varieties are delicious and easy to prepare. Tested by Lifehacker.;)
Recipe number 1. Banana bread from 5 ingredients
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe medium-sized bananas;
- 2 cups instant oatmeal
- 2 large eggs;
- ¼ cups of maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon baking powder.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees before starting the dough. Prepare a baking dish (preferably 13 x 23 cm) by lining it with parchment or oil.
The dough is prepared literally in one step: all the ingredients are put into a food processor or blender and ground until smooth. For a smoother dough, I would recommend chopping the bananas to a puree consistency separately from the rest of the ingredients.
Pour the finished dough into a mold. If desired, spread thin slices of banana on top and send the bread to the oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Readiness can be checked with a wooden toothpick or skewer. To do this, you just need to pierce the bread: if there is a wet dough on the surface of the toothpick, it means that the bread is not ready yet. If it is dry, you can take the dessert out of the oven and leave it to cool in the mold.
Recipe number 2. Apple bread with oatmeal
Ingredients
For bread:
- 1 cup instant oatmeal
- 1 cup wholemeal flour
- ½ teaspoon salt;
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda;
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 large eggs;
- ¼ cups of honey;
- ⅓ cups of vegetable oil;
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of vanillin
- ⅓ cups of brown sugar;
- 2 cups minced apples (about 2 large apples)
- ⅓ cups of chopped walnuts or any other of your choice.
For decoration:
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons of instant oatmeal;
- ¼ a teaspoon of ground cinnamon;
- 1 teaspoon butter, melted.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. In a small bowl, combine the garnishing ingredients and set aside. Prepare a pastry mold (20 × 10 cm) by covering it with baking parchment or greasing it with vegetable oil.
Put the oatmeal in a blender and grind until flour. Pour the oatmeal into a large bowl and add the rest of the dry ingredients: coarse flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
In another deep bowl, beat eggs with brown sugar, butter, honey and vanilla. Add finely chopped apples there and mix until smooth. Then pour the dry mixture into a bowl, carefully add the walnuts and whisk again thoroughly until all the ingredients are mixed.
Pour the dough into a prepared baking dish, put the mixture on top for decoration and send to the oven for one hour.
Recipe number 3. Pumpkin bread with nuts and spices
Ingredients:
- ½ – 1 cup pumpkin puree;
- 2 large eggs;
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of vanillin
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt;
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger;
- ¼ a teaspoon of ground black pepper;
- ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg;
- 1/2 cup raisins
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Prepare a baking dish (13x23 cm) by covering it with baking parchment or greasing it with vegetable oil.
Whisk the pumpkin puree, eggs, vegetable oil, sugar and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, raisins and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
Then mix the dry ingredients with the egg and butter mixture until a smooth dough is obtained, place it in a baking dish and place it in the oven for 50-60 minutes. Allow to cool completely before cutting the finished bread.
