The head of the biker club "Black Rebels" Johnny travels with friends all over the country. The guys want to assert themselves, have fun and attract attention, but incur the wrath of the leader of Scottish bikers Chino.

It's hard to believe, but this film had a huge impact on the birth of not only the whole genre of cinema, but also the biker movement itself. For the role of the then very young Marlon Brando, he spent time with real motorcyclists, adopting their slang and manner of communication. The actor came up with the image of the character himself, taking things from his personal wardrobe. And even the Triumph Thunderbird was his own.

2. Easy rider

  • USA, 1969.
  • Road movie, drama, adventure.
  • Duration: 95 minutes.
  • IMDb: 7, 3.

Bikers Wyatt and Billy travel across America. But the closer they get to the southern states, the less they believe in universal love and freedom.

"Easy Rider" brought fame to debutant Dennis Hopper (later the iconic American director) and his co-creator Peter Fonda. On the set, they adhered to the principles laid down by the French "new wave": they themselves played the main roles, smoked real marijuana to make it more realistic, and invented many scenes on the go.

With this film, along with Bonnie and Clyde (1967), it is customary to begin the countdown of the New Hollywood era. After all, completely different characters appeared in these paintings - romantic rebels who did not want to live by the imposed rules.

3. Mad Max

  • Australia, 1979.
  • Science fiction, action, thriller, adventure.
  • Duration: 88 minutes.
  • IMDb: 6, 9.

In the not too distant future, there is not enough fuel in Australia and all life is concentrated around the highways, where marauders rage. Young police officer Max Rokatansky confronts one of these gangs, driving around on powerful motorcycles. The hero will have to save his family and survive on his own.

Now the Mad Max franchise is remembered mainly for its post-apocalyptic sequels. But for those who love spectacular races, especially on bikes, it is imperative to watch the first film. It was this picture that glorified 34-year-old Australian director George Miller and set the fashion for futuristic action films.

4. Harley Davidson and the Marlboro cowboy

  • USA, 1991.
  • Action, thriller, drama, crime.

Two gouging friends decide to help an old friend and save his bar from ruin. But instead, they get caught up in a robbery and incur the wrath of local thugs.

Simon Winser's film flopped at the box office and was not at all popular with critics. But later, the picture acquired the status of a cult, and after this role, Mickey Rourke had the image of a charismatic bad guy on a motorcycle for a long time.

5. Beyond the law

  • USA, 1993.
  • Drama, crime.
  • Duration: 108 minutes.
  • IMDb: 6, 5.

Undercover cop Dan Sachs infiltrates a gang of bikers who trade in arms. The hero quickly gains authority, but is so imbued with a rebellious spirit that he almost goes over to the dark side.

The iconic 1990s movie with the flamboyant Charlie Sheen and Michael Madsen as the main villain still looks great. The picture is complemented by a cool rock and roll soundtrack.

6. Che Guevara: The Motorcycle Diaries

  • Argentina, USA, Chile, Peru, Brazil, UK, Germany, France, 2004.
  • Road movie, drama, adventure, biography.
  • Duration: 126 minutes.

The future doctor Ernesto Che Guevara, together with his friend Alberto, sets off on a motorcycle trip across South America. But on the way, the hero realizes that his vocation is not medicine at all.

Walter Salles took the real diaries of young Che Guevara as the basis for his atmospheric biopic. There he told how he became a revolutionary during his trip from Buenos Aires to Venezuela. And the director perfectly managed to show the transformation of an ordinary student into one of the most significant figures of the 20th century.

7. Ghost Rider

  • USA, Australia, 2007.
  • Fantasy, action, thriller.
  • Duration: 110 minutes.
  • IMDb: 5, 3.

Extreme biker Johnny Blaze sells his soul to Mephistopheles in the hope of saving his father from cancer. After many years, the devil returns to claim his rights. He promises to release Johnny from the contract if he destroys his son Blackheart, who is plotting against his parent.

Critics smashed the film adaptation of the Marvel comic with Nicolas Cage in the title role, although the audience liked the film, judging by the fees. And the image of the demonic motorcyclist Johnny has become an icon among cosplayers.

But we must pay tribute to the creators: for the role of Mephistopheles, they called the legendary Peter Fonda, the hero of the cult "Easy Rider". And Nicolas Cage himself was and remains an ardent fan of the original comics. On the set, the actor even had to cover up a tattoo with a burning skull - a symbol of the series about the Ghost Rider.

8. Real boars

  • USA, 2007.
  • Action, comedy, adventure.
  • Duration: 100 minutes.
  • IMDb: 5, 8.

Four already middle-aged bikers, tired of the routine, decide to shake off the old days and drive across the country on motorcycles. But on the way, they encounter problems - at first not serious, and then really dangerous.

A silly, but very kind film-parody is unlikely to impress connoisseurs of arthouse, but it is guaranteed to give a good mood to everyone else. And fans of biker movies will also appreciate the amusing cameos. So, in one of the episodes, the ubiquitous Peter Fonda appears, who advises the heroes to throw out the watch, as he once did in "Easy Rider". In addition, the bar offers a glimpse of two famous motorcycle makers, Orange County Choppers.

9. Three meters above the sky

Young biker Ache, who loves to take risks, falls in love with Babi, a well-bred girl from a wealthy family. Contrary to the circumstances, relationships are struck between them that will not lead to anything good.

The plot about the love of an innocent schoolgirl and a notorious bully, of course, does not shine with novelty. Still, the film adaptation of Federico Moccia's book captivated audiences all over the world. And all thanks to the charming actors Maria Valverde and Mario Casas, as well as the gorgeous views of Barcelona, where the main passions boil.

10. Road of honor

  • USA, 2014.
  • Thriller, drama.
  • Duration: 91 minutes.
  • IMDb: 6, 1.

Native American Robert Wolf watched from a young age how whites oppressed his people. And after the bandits raped and killed his mother, he has to get on a motorcycle and start lynching.

This film demonstrated that Jason Momoa is more than just a textured, athletic appearance. After all, the actor was also a good director. By the way, the bike of the protagonist was played by the motorcycle of Momoa himself.
