Apple has perfectly implemented technology that allows virtual objects to be placed in the real world.
One of the main features of iOS 11 is ARKit, a development kit that you can use to create augmented reality applications. Despite the fact that the technology was announced several months ago, there are still few such applications in the App Store, but they are still there.
All of these programs can be tested on the iPad Pro and iPad 2017, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, and iPhone SE.
1. World Brush
The application allows you to paint on real surfaces, be it walls, grass or even the sky. The program resembles Google's Tilt Brush, designed for virtual reality. What you paint in the World Brush is visible to all other users. They just need to launch the application and point the camera to the desired location.
2. Edmunds
The main purpose of the application is buying and selling new and used cars. But with the release of iOS 11, a useful feature appeared in it that allows you to place a car in front of you in its real size. This way you can determine if a particular car will fit in your garage. There are thousands of different vehicle shapes and sizes available at Edmunds.
3. Stack AR
A simple game in which you select a surface and start stacking blocks on it. Stack AR has a nice look and feel and doesn't take a lot of time. Ideal to show a friend the possibilities of augmented reality.
4. Thomas & Friends Minis
The only app that Apple is currently promoting in the App Store as an augmented reality product. In the game, you create the routes that Thomas the Tank Engine must take. If you turn on AR mode, then the route can be placed directly on the carpet or table at home. A great way to show kids the potential of technology.
5. Housecraft
Through the program, you can see how this or that piece of furniture will look in your home. The Housecraft catalog is quite extensive: in it you can find not only traditional tables and chairs, but even flowerpots. In this case, you can adjust the parameters of the furniture such as width and length.
6. AR MeasureKit
The app is a collection of augmented reality measuring instruments. Through AR MeasureKit, you can measure length, trajectory, distance to a point, angle between objects, and even a person's height. Surprisingly, the program works very accurately and in many cases is indeed capable of replacing roulette and other instruments.
