Surely many of you are familiar with such a popular show in America as Wrestling. It came to our blue screens in the early 2000s together with the popular presenter and commentator Nikolai Fomenko. It was thanks to his non-standard approach in the commented show that many stayed up late in front of the TV. After that, from time to time on various Russian channels, broadcasts were launched every now and then, but, apparently, because of the low rating, they were removed from the broadcast network. But many fans of the show still have warm feelings when they hear the names WWF or WCW.

To the great regret of many, not everyone can remember those times. The show itself can only be watched from recordings of American channels available on torrent trackers, and popular games are only released on consoles. But if you still follow the events of World Wrestling Entertainment (for example, a separate paid channel on your Apple TV) and know the entire roster of new fighters, then by all means pay attention to the game based on the reasons that recently appeared in the App Store.

WWE Immortals is a fighting game from the notorious NetherRealm, the creators of the new Mortal Kombat and Injustice, using the basic mechanics of the studio's games. The new game is very similar to Injustice: Gods Among Us. All the same cards with heroes and three-on-three battles, special moves and colorful effects. Only instead of superheroes from comics, fighters from the World Wrestling Federation are fighting in the arena. However, even in this game, all the fighters look like the notorious superheroes from the same comics.

The biggest complaint about Immortals is that the game is not a sports show simulator. It's the same Injustice, only with a different sauce. Upgrading our fighters, we buy new power-ups, improve techniques and learn new super-strikes. But all the action takes place in fictional arenas, with fictional fantasy throws and punches, which have almost nothing to do with "normal" wrestling.

Not more than a couple of months have passed since the announcement, and it seems that these sixty days were the whole development. No interesting possibilities or new ideas - the whole game is rolling along a well-worn track. This is clearly not what the fans of the show were expecting. Where is the ring? Where is the judge? Where are the spectators and the big stadium? Where are the tables, chairs and other objects that can be used to beat opponents? Of all this, only the names of the fighters fighting in the arenas remained.

So it turns out that WWE Immortals is difficult to recommend to anyone. On the one hand, there are familiar fighters (although they look rather strange) and slightly similar finishing moves, on the other hand, there is a complete absence of wrestling shows as such. For those who are not told about anything by names, it may be worth giving a try if you are already tired of superhero showdowns. Fans might also like it, if we ignore the WWE universe. For an amateur. And it’s a pity. Perhaps TNA will not spare the money for development, and soon we will see a full, interesting and, most importantly, simulator-like gameplay in a new project of some talented studio.
