1. Don't be afraid to take risks

And try to surround yourself with people who, if necessary, will help you take risks, even if you yourself would not. Choose mentors, investors and consultants with broad vision and experience. This is especially important if you are just starting a career. You must have someone who will not only give advice, but also persuade you to get out of your comfort zone.

2. Don't define success too narrowly

We often focus on one event or one meeting, believing that all our success depends on them. But you shouldn't define it so narrowly. Perhaps this event or this meeting will not bring exactly the results you were expecting, but it will be useful in something else. Or maybe you just have a good time.

Don't screw yourself up. Don't start every conversation with a prospect or partner expecting some benefit. Just be yourself, tell us what you think about and how you are doing.

3. Do not give up any opportunity when you are at the beginning of the journey

When you are new to a particular field, agree to all offers and attend all events. You need to get attention, talk about your company or your skills to as many people as possible. Most of the opportunities at this stage of the journey arise precisely from those with whom you met by chance.

4. Do not grab onto everything when you are already moving forward in your career

When you have achieved certain results and feel more confident, you no longer need to constantly say "yes". If you more and more often find yourself thinking “Why did I waste my time on this?”, It's time to change something.

At this stage, we usually understand that we could do something more important for our development or spend this time with loved ones.

5. Don't compare yourself to others

When we meet successful people, including our competitors, we start comparing ourselves to them. We want to do more, develop faster, just to keep up with them. We even start offering clients services they don't need just because others are doing it. This approach will not be successful. Try to improve in what you do, but stop constantly looking back at others.

6. Don't be discouraged by failure

The skills and knowledge required to be successful develop gradually with experience. If you expect everything to turn out well right away, you've already failed.

Remember that every failure teaches you something and helps you become better. Try to identify your strengths and promising areas for growth, and then think about what you can do to develop them.
