How much attention do you pay to the security of your data and correspondence? There are many apps and services for passwords, accounts, and other login information, such as 1Password or the native Keychain. But what about messages, emails and other correspondence? What if someone reads them after they are received by the addressee? After all, this is possible, ranging from banal peeping over the shoulder and ending with the loss or theft of the device. If for you these problems are not an empty phrase and you do not think that all this is nonsense and paranoia, then this article will be of interest to you. It will talk about the Confide application, which allows you to safely send and most importantly receive messages.

The essence of the application is that the received messages are displayed in a closed form and are deleted immediately after reading. Plus, Confide uses encryption to protect your privacy.
To use Confide, you need to register in the system, indicating the mail to which your account will be linked (by the way, it will need to be verified).
After registering and logging in, you need to allow access to your contacts (optional) in order to send messages to those people who also have Confide installed (the same principle as WhatsApp and Viber). Additionally, you can connect your Facebook profile to send letters to your friends.
The first message you receive will be a greeting from the Confide team, which will show us how the application works.
Everything is simple here: we swipe along lines of text so that individual words open and you can read the sentence. The rest of the lines of text remain closed at this time. As soon as you read the message and close it, it will be immediately deleted. The inbox will display the sender's name, subject and time, but the message itself cannot be opened and viewed.
In the application settings, you can log out, add another email, phone number (as an additional address for sending) and enable the Facebook profile.
One more point about security. Confide monitors the capture of screenshots and blocks them (destroys messages without the possibility of opening). I checked that this is indeed the case: the message is displayed in the inbox (marked with a screenshot), but it cannot be opened. Well, one more way of additional protection doesn't hurt.

If confidentiality of information is not an empty phrase for you and you want to protect your personal correspondence and not worry that your messages will fall into the wrong hands - Confide definitely deserves your attention. The application is quite highly specialized and has a minimum of functionality, nevertheless, it copes with its tasks perfectly. All other advantages of Confide include the fact that the application is completely free. So, hurry up to install before the developer raises the price!
