Windows 10 users will finally be able to install Instagram on their personal computers. However, in terms of functionality, the desktop application is still inferior to its mobile version.

The PC application allows users to view their account, photos in the feed, send and receive messages, change the profile and settings. In addition, unlike the web version, the desktop application makes it possible to share your posts to Facebook.

But the main function of Instagram - the publication of photos - is pretty much curtailed. You can create a post only if you have a tablet or PC with a touch screen and a camera. So you won't be able to load photos from your hard drive.

The interface of the application is not yet very well adapted for PC screens. It occupies exclusively the center of the screen, leaving a lot of empty and useless space on the sides. It would be possible to display in the margins, say, comments on photos, as is done in the web version. In addition, the Instagram Stories feature works crookedly. When adding a new "story", the application simply crashes. The "live tile" in the "Start" menu also does not function. In theory, photos from your account should be displayed on it one by one, but this does not happen.

In general, the desktop version of Instagram is still far from ideal, but, perhaps, all the irregularities will be fixed in the next updates.
