The plot is based on the novel of the same name by Vladimir Bogomolov (also known as "The Moment of Truth"), in which the author, almost for the first time in Soviet history, spoke about the activities of the special services during the war. But in the film adaptation, many moments from the original were changed, turning the action into a lighter and more dynamic action movie.

Still, the director's experience in advertising came in handy in an action movie.

Boris Akunin's books about Erast Fandorin are classic detective stories, and most often the action takes place in Moscow or St. Petersburg. But the plot of the "Turkish Gambit", unfolding during the Russian-Turkish war, allowed the filmmakers to add a lot of action and battle scenes. It is interesting that in all the films based on Akunin, the main character is played by different actors. Yegor Beroev starred in the Turkish Gambit as Fandorin.

Ilya Naishuller's film is without a doubt the most dynamic action movie in the entire collection. The action here begins literally in the first minutes and does not end until the very end. And we see all the action through the eyes of the protagonist. And at the same time in the frame you can find many stars: from Sergei Shnurov to Evgeny Bazhenov. Although some of them appear for just a few seconds.

10. Kandahar

  • Russia, 2009.
  • Action, drama.
  • Duration: 100 minutes.
  • IMDb: 6, 7.

In the mid-1990s, a transport plane carrying weapons under the guise of humanitarian aid was forcibly planted in Kandahar. Five Russian pilots were captured. After spending several months there, the team is convinced that there is nowhere to wait for help. And then the pilots decide to escape.

Like other films on this list, Kandahar has received a lot of criticism for distorting real-life events. For example, all pilots with non-Slavic surnames disappeared from the plot in a strange way. But if we abstract from the historical basis, we got a good picture of an escape from captivity.
