The Dark Side of the Moon is a purchased adaptation of the British TV series Life on Mars. And - lo and behold! - our series, thanks to the creative approach to adaptation, has become much stronger than the original in terms of drama and setting (the world in which the story unfolds).

This is a retro series. Yes, retro has already set the teeth on edge, and it is absolutely impossible to watch TV series about the past. But this is an exception to the rule. Here, the Soviet past, into which the protagonist falls, is presented so organically and interestingly that it arouses genuine interest. This is helped by the strong engine of the series: the hero has moved into the body of his father, and he will have to look at his parent with a new look.

The first season of The Far Side of the Moon can be called brilliant, while the second was taken off the air due to too low ratings. Sometimes creators have to come to terms with the fact that a good show can have one season.

There is an unspoken format on television: you need to create such a hero so that the viewer can be equal to him. It is advisable that he does not change sexual partners, and if the demon beguiled and he went to treason, he terribly regretted and prayed for forgiveness.

It is believed that television should show heroes who are better than us. But the characters in La Dolce Vita don't bother about it at all. They are not better than us, they are the same as us, and in some situations they are worse: they decide on what usually stops us. They really change partners with each other a hundred times a season, but something else is interesting. Most of all, this series is not accepted by people who have about the same thing in their lives.

A work unique in its boldness, in which almost for the first time they decided to destroy the image of the “woman from the series”. Screenwriter Dasha Gracevich wrote about a heroine who has a husband and three lovers. That is, the total number of her men is four. And that doesn't make her the word you think it is.

Earlier, if you came with such a story to Channel One, Domashny or some others, you would be sent to hell. Because a woman on TV must be faithful, cook borscht and love only one man all her life. The creators of "Cheating" said with their series: "What nonsense ?!" - and put on the air a new type of heroine.

She's strong, she's confused, she's traumatized by past experiences, and she's desperate to get out of the position she's in. And if in the first episode you can catch yourself thinking: “Four such different men, hmm, cool,” then the subsequent episodes show how psychologically difficult and even dangerous it is.

In addition to the drama, the directing and super-accurate casting are worth noting. The work on the series went on for a very long time, only one pilot episode was re-filmed four times, because the Cheating team set itself the goal of doing something qualitatively different from the usual Russian melodramas.

It is not always customary to speak well about this series either. Many people say that in some places the motivations of the main characters suffer, and we will not argue with that. But we will not ignore the obvious dignity of the series either.

The creators of The Method are fearsome fans of Dexter, Luther and True Detective. They were so eager to do something like that that they took a little from all the television masterpieces.

Meglin, the protagonist, is as noble a maniac as Dexter. But this is not just a tracing paper. The hero is screwed up: he is a maniac who copes with this and teaches other serial killers to control himself and not harm others. Meglin, like Dexter, has a code of "maniac in the tie", the rule from which each new episode begins. We see remotely similar situations that were in "Luther", but there are very few of them, and they are resolved differently. Finally, a narrative form is taken from True Detective.

It would seem what kind of freak it can turn out if you sew three series, transfer it to Russian soil, and even add your own. But this is not a freak at all. After a few episodes, you get used to the weirdness of the heroes and the world and you get the most important thing.

This series can be considered a kind of guide to Russian mania, and here's why. Each new series has a case, which is based on the documentary history of a real maniac who operated in Russia and killed many people. "Policeman from Rublyovka" (like "Major") brought up a new type of law enforcement officer on the screen. Earlier, thanks to a series of cop series on various channels, the image of a policeman was associated with the viewer with something scary, dark and not very pleasant. In the same series, the main character is a fashionable rich guy who got into the police and began to quite honestly figure out what was going on around him. He has money, which means that he is not interested in bribes. He is interested in the truth and the search for himself.

Thus, we get an attractive policeman character, which can not even be called a cop. Well, this word does not suit him, because he is cute, charming, fair and in general we like him.

Work on good TV shows is underway. Just not as fast as we would like. We must remember that we are lagging behind America, in which every series is a masterpiece by at least 10 years. Therefore, it takes time.
