Jawbone recently pleased users with support for importing data from many third-party programs and gadgets, such as Apple Health or Android Wear watches. Today the company announced two new products at once in the segment of wearable electronics. Gadgets are intended to fill the high-end and low-end segments of the UP line and are named Move and UP3.
UP Move
This is the most budgetary fitness tracker of the company: its price is only $50 … This gadget was created for those who actively use Jawbone software and are preparing to choose their first physical activity monitor. For this money, Move can count the number of steps taken and calories burned, and even analyze the quality of your sleep.
Like the more expensive UP products, Move owners will have access to the Smart Coach feature. True, given the very small number of sensors of the latter, the quality of tracking the process of your classes and the amount of useful data that the gadget will exchange with the application will be minimal.
The watch function in Move is implemented similarly to the recently released Misfit Shine and consists of several LEDs that are responsible for displaying the time, the progress of a given task, and the amount of time you slept the day before.
The tracker contains a regular battery that can be found in most wristwatches. According to the manufacturer, Move will be able to work with it for six months. The gadget will be available in five color variations.
UP3
It is the most advanced physical activity tracker in the world.
This is exactly what Jawbone representatives say. And, frankly, it's hard to disagree with them. The high-precision sensors that the UP3 abounds in were developed by specialists from the subsidiary BodyMedia. Among them are a three-axis accelerometer, body and environmental temperature sensors, a galvanic sensor for measuring the condition of the skin, sensors for assessing heart rate and respiratory rate.
Thanks to information from all sensors, the gadget is able to analyze with high accuracy both the usual indicators, such as the number of calories burned or the distance traveled, and very specific ones - the user's habits, the quality of rest and the general condition of the body. And with the new Personal Trainer feature, the UP3 will recommend the most effective workouts based solely on your personal performance and the goals you set for yourself.
Like many other analogues, UP3 is able to monitor the quality of sleep. At the same time, he distinguishes between the phases of slow and REM sleep and will wake you up at the most favorable time. The gadget also knows how to distinguish between the different sports that you play. This can be running, swimming, cycling, tennis, or more specific activities.
The UP3 is water resistant and can be used for diving to a depth of 10 meters. A small 38 mAh battery of the tracker allows it to work without recharging for only seven days, which is more than enough, given that charging most likely will not take you more than half an hour.
UP3 will be asked for $180, it will be available in two color variations, and at first it will only be able to work with iOS devices. Android support is announced early next year.
