Why do you love Yandex? Is it hard to decide? The Russian Internet titanium has penetrated into many areas of our life, offering several dozen search and information, entertainment and personal services. But for me, the Yandex. Money wallet stands alone.

Recently, Yandex has introduced new restrictions in its payment system, significantly curtailing the rights of anonymous users. Many are faced with the compulsory need to go through the procedure for identifying their identity. If for Russian citizens the process takes place according to a simplified scheme, then for foreigners everything looks a little more complicated.

In this article, I, a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, will share my own experience of getting out of the shadows and talk about some of the difficulties that I encountered during the identification process.

Legislator's kick

The whole fuss started after the entry into force of the federal laws "On the National Payment System" and "On Counteracting the Legalization (Laundering) of Criminally Obtained Incomes and the Financing of Terrorism." As you can see, Yandex itself cannot be blamed for the inconvenience. Although there is no need to scold the authorities, the state is still opposed to the illegal turnover of funds. Therefore, the kick is directed not towards peaceful people, but into the soft tissues of terrorists and black financial tycoons.

The restrictions were expressed in the limit of the amount and the geography of the payment. Anonymous can only spend 15 thousand rubles at a time and only in Russian stores. This is where their rights end. Let's face it, nothing at all.

Identified users can pay checks of 100 thousand rubles (including in foreign stores), as well as transfer money to other accounts (or bank cards) and withdraw money from their wallet. Simply put, you can twist-twist any operation. Full "stuffing".

Therefore, the question "Pass or not?" in principle, it does not stand in front of an active user of a Yandex wallet. Forward, for identification! How? Just!

Theory

I note right away that checking your identity is a fairly simple event.

You need:

• download the application of the established form and fill it in with your passport data;
• make a photocopy of the main spread of the passport and the registration page;
• to certify separately a copy of the passport and the signature in the application with a notary;
• send certified papers to the Yandex office.

Of course, you should make sure that the copy of your passport is legible.

Just in case, let me remind you that a notary is not just any person with a law degree and is not a legal advisor to your company. Notary - a person specially authorized to perform notarial acts. He has a license to carry out notarial activities and registers each of his actions in accordance with the legislation of the country of his registration.

Notary services cost money. In my case, the certification of a copy of the passport and the certification of the signature in the application were paid separately. In total, about $ 20 came out. The notary stapled the documents, sealed them and attached their contact details. What for? According to her, Yandex's security service may well want to call the notary who certified the documents in order to verify its physical existence. Reasonable. Therefore, take a notary's business card and throw it in the postage - it will not be superfluous.

Do not skimp on the letter. Send documents with delivery, because there are legends about the Russian post office. I don't want to check these bikes on my money and time and send the papers again.

For citizens of a number of countries, there is one more condition: the certification must be stamped "Apostille". The list of “lucky” countries, as well as the shipping address, can be found on the identification information procedure.

Practice

In most of Russia, it is summer now, therefore, the sleigh with the mail is drawn to the addressee for a long time. Yandex warns that the transfer may take several weeks, after which the processing of the received data will begin. This can take up to 20 days.

I sent the documents in mid-May and there was silence until the end of June. Perhaps it would have continued if I had not disturbed the Yandex. Money support service. I wondered if my documents had been received. To which he received an affirmative answer and a request to wait for the start of the verification procedure. They also promised me that "as soon as the first results appear, you will know about it right away." "Great! - I thought. "Soon a letter or notification (SMS) will come on my smartphone, and I will be happy." Nope, it didn't happen.

As time went on, it was mid-July. It's time to write letters again, although they asked not to bother me about trifles. They answered me. As it turned out, in my personal account there is already a button for confirming identification data. I don’t know how long ago my documents were considered - immediately after the repeated appeal or earlier - but no one warned me about the need to confirm the data. It is not good. Plus, the button could be more expressive and intrusive or something. I would like her to declare herself at first sight.

Let's move on to data verification. I wonder how the information is processed in Yandex - manually or using software? What am I doing this for? My patronymic Viktorovich was recognized as Eduardovich. These patronymics have little in common, as for me. But fact is fact. Therefore, I had to fill out a form about data incorrectness. In support of my innocence, they demanded that I send a photo of my passport. What for? Apparently, the internal structure does not allow the transfer of documents. Therefore, I highly recommend paying attention to every letter and number from the information you provide. Mistakes do happen.

Now the end of my ordeal has come. On the twentieth of July, I was able to get the authenticated user status. Everything about everything took more than two months. I will not point to anyone. Maybe the mail is to blame; maybe Yandex is slowing down; maybe I was not paying attention. And most likely, everything is a little bit.

Conclusion

In the closing lines, I would like to note the speed of the support service. All my letters were answered in a matter of hours or less.

I would very much like Yandex to let its users know about every step of the identification procedure: receiving documents, starting and ending consideration, checking by the security service. This would be convenient for those who pay interest on money transfers from their own pockets. Yet they are for us, not us for them.

Some of my acquaintances did not bother at all and did not spend money. They found the passport data of the Russians on the Internet and successfully leaked them to Yandex as Russian citizens. Should you do this? You decide. But I would still not recommend it, especially if you are going to use a wallet when paying through foreign banks.
