How to make money for a student: 5 non-standard ways to get money
How to make money for a student: 5 non-standard ways to get money

From my student days, I remember two unsuccessful ways to make money. The first is a great ad that promises quick earnings, a simple job, and a good office that turned out to be the center of cold theater ticket sales. We got there with a friend, received instructions, saw how many tickets the operators sold in half a day (zero) and did not appear there anymore.

The second method was more extreme and introduced me to work that was not interesting. Moreover, it was disgusting. The medical equipment company was looking for "messengers".

Dealers are salespeople who have been sent to nearby villages to sell useless appliances to the elderly. Curiously, most of the whistleblowers did not think they were doing something bad, justifying their actions by the fact that the equipment was really working. Only I doubt that they could explain why a glucometer is needed for people without diabetes.

The proximity of September 1 and memories of failed endeavors prompted me to think that people like me are in the majority. Students who are quite easy to tempt with easy money. Therefore, here are some non-standard ways to make money without harming your studies.

1. Discover freelance exchanges

In most cases, they are looking for layout designers, designers, copywriters and programmers. There are also more rare vacancies like sound specialists. The good news is that the entry threshold on freelance exchanges is very low. So low that you can learn one of the professions within a few months and start making money from it.

It is advisable that this profession is to your liking, otherwise you will not last long. Another advantage of exchanges is the accumulating rating. The more orders and reviews you have, the more pay you can get for your work. In my student days, I worked part-time in this way. There was not a lot of money coming out, but this is a good option for help.

2. Sell pictures on photo stocks

Of course, in order for your photos to be bought, they must be good. There are already enough smiling businessmen on photo stocks. The easiest option to start with is the Clashot app. Judging by the reviews, the minimum amount of money (a couple of dollars) can be earned even from bad photos. But the better the picture, the more often people will buy it. You can withdraw money through PayPal.

If you want to try your hand at more serious options, then there are two largest photo and Depositphotos. True, before you publish your work there, you will have to go through the moderation procedure.

3. Help your friends learn

A good option, especially if you live in a hostel. Some friends managed to earn impressive sums for a student. Basically, they did this: they performed a laboratory, abstract or essay once, and then resold to students of other courses. In fact, the work you have written from the second sale already becomes an investment. You do not waste time on it, but it still brings money. The main thing is to find clients.

4. Sell unnecessary items

Surprisingly, at large sites like Avito, people buy everything. In the literal sense of the word. I don't mean old books or shelves. I even managed to sell an unwanted guitar and a torn leather jacket. Therefore, if you need money very badly, I am sure you will find something to sell. Not a kidney.

5. Trade virtual items

I don't have exact statistics, but about half of the male students play online games. Dota 2, WoW, Counter-Strike, World of Tanks - if I was good at at least one of these games, I could easily find buyers for virtual things. As a bonus, I would become a respected person. True, in narrow circles.

But more often than not, students earn money in a more familiar way - they go to work. Waiter, bartender, car washer - for any job where there is an opportunity to work in shifts. However, everyone already knows about this, so I decided not to pay attention to it.

Tell us how you managed to make money during your student days. I'm sure you have something to tell.
