The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who often pleases with reliable insiders, about the new iPhone 11 models on the eve of the announcement. According to him, smartphones will not support the digital stylus, which was often mentioned in previous rumors.
Plus, none of the iPhone 11 models will get reversible wireless charging to power watches, headphone cases, and other smartphones. The reason for abandoning this technology is the same as in the case of the long-suffering AirPower - Apple failed to make charging efficiently enough.
Also, Min-Chi Kuo noted that the transition to USB-C this year will not take place - smartphones will retain the Lightning port. It is possible, however, that the USB-C plug will be on the other end of the charging cable, allowing the iPhone to be powered directly from the MacBook without adapters.
The included power adapter will finally receive support for fast charging. The analyst speaks of up to 18W of power, but this only applies to the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The regular iPhone 11, which replaces the iPhone XR, will be complemented by a simple 5W adapter, and even with a USB-A connector.
All three new items will be equipped with ultra-wideband technology, which will improve navigation inside buildings and, apparently, will ensure compatibility with new accessories for finding lost items.
All these features, according to Min-Chi Kuo, will not be able to provide a high interest in new devices, so shipments of the iPhone 11 will be reduced by 5-10%. Apple will try to compensate for this by lowering prices for older models of smartphones.
