An iPhone with 16GB of storage is a more affordable, but not the most convenient option for an Apple smartphone. But there are solutions to the problem of not having enough free space on the device.

Reduce photo and video resolution

High resolution is good in terms of photo and video quality, but bad for free memory. The more pixels, the more space the file takes up. Most likely, no one will notice much difference between 1080p and 720p video. Go to "Settings" → "Photos and Camera" → "Camera" → "Video Recorder" to change the parameters of the recorded videos. Taking a step back in quality will save you a lot of memory.
