When you read an article on your phone and want to continue reading on a computer, you need to remember where you left off, find the material on the Web, and then the desired paragraph. Microsoft, Apple, and Google have tools that make this process much easier.

Continue on PC on Windows

A relatively new feature from Microsoft works with Android and iOS devices.

For Android, you need to download Microsoft Apps to your phone. If you own an iPhone or iPad, you will need the Continue on PC program.

The first time you try to send the page to your computer, the app prompts you to sign in to your Microsoft account. This must be the same account that you use on your computer.

If you choose Continue now, the site will immediately open on your PC. If you click Continue later, the link will appear in the Windows 10 notification center so that you can view it later.

Handoff on iOS

With this feature, you can send to your Mac any site that you browse on your iPhone. It is supported not only in the Safari browser, but also in other applications such as Messages and Bear.

After launching a supported application, you will see a corresponding icon on your computer, in the Dock. Click on it, and the site from the phone will open on the Mac - and in the default browser, and not necessarily in Safari.

For the function to work, a number of conditions must be met. Each device must be signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi must be turned on, and Handoff itself.

On iOS, go to Settings → General → Handoff and enable Handoff. On your computer, go to Apple menu → System Preferences and click General, then select the Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices check box.

Sync tabs in Google Chrome

Google offers a whole bunch of sync options in its browser. You can easily access history, extensions and login details on almost any platform. One has only to make a reservation that extensions do not work on Android and iOS.

If you read news or restaurant menus on your phone, you can quickly access them in Chrome on Windows or macOS. To do this, you just need to open the history of visits (Ctrl + H or ⌘ + Y). This will show you the tabs and sites you've opened on other devices. You can do the same on your phone.
