“Inspired by nature, developed in Brooklyn and grown by you,” this is how the creators describe their project on Kickstarter. A truly eco-friendly lamp, the main part of which will literally have to be grown, surprises and fascinates.

Grow is a minimalist lamp with a wooden stand and a shade made entirely of intertwined strands of mushroom mycelium. It is he who will have to grow with his own hands, using the components from the set.

The Grow kit includes a substrate with mushroom material and two plastic shading templates. You just need to moisten the substrate, fill in the forms with it and, covered with a film, wait four days. During this time, the mycelium will sprout and completely fill the entire space inside the template, forming an eco-friendly lampshade with a beautiful white texture.

All that remains is to insert the cable with the cartridge into it, install it on a simple wooden stand and turn it on. The beauty!

Grow can be ordered on Kickstarter for $ 115. Delivery is promised in November.
