The device not only limits the field of view, but also suppresses external noise.
Designers from the Japanese studio Future of Life, owned by Panasonic, have created a prototype device that will be useful to employees of companies with open offices, where tens or hundreds of people can be in one room.
In principle, the device is similar to horse blinders or a large collar made of dense, flexible material. It will create a personal workspace in a noisy place and serve as a sign that the person is very busy and should not be disturbed.
Wear Space in its original position reduces the horizontal field of view by about 60%, but the viewing angle can be adjusted - the case contracts and stretches at the user's request.
Built-in Bluetooth headphones are equipped with a noise canceling system so that the person is definitely not distracted by anything. A single USB charge gives you up to 20 hours of listening to music or podcasts if you don't like being in silence.
So far, the device is only available in concept form, but Panasonic is a fundraiser on Japanese crowdfunding site GreenFunding. If the campaign is successful, then Wear Space will go into mass production. It will cost about $ 250.
