It just so happened that many owners of Apple computers trust their personal "secrets" to the very popular and convenient application 1Password, and do not even look at alternatives. So today I would like to tell you about Soxranika.

Soxranika's main window is divided into four logical zones designed to store the same type of data: user passwords, contacts, software licenses and bank details, which are displayed in a general list in the form of a table with three to four columns.

At the bottom of the window there is a search bar that allows you to quickly find the necessary data if there is an impressive amount, buttons for adding or deleting table rows, moving between records and displaying a window with additional information that changes depending on the type of data viewed.

In addition, to ensure greater privacy, you can set a password to launch Soxranika. And although a special window says that its length is limited to five characters, the utility accepted a longer password without any problems.

But Soxranika has several significant drawbacks:

  • The utility does not integrate with browsers, which means that you will have to insert passwords using the old and proven method:

    Cmd + C> Cmd + V

  • … Owners of the iPhone and iPad are also “on the fly”.
  • The data is exported to a regular, unencrypted CVS file, which can be read by any even not the most advanced user.
  • The application is not thought out everywhere from the point of view of usability (take a look at the Contacts window just above) and sometimes it works with errors.

But if you want a simple and not as expensive solution as 1Password, I suggest you take a look at Soxranika.
