Apple has quietly refreshed its line of laptops, including both the 13-inch and 15-inch models.
The third generation of Apple's signature Butterfly keyboard fixes many of the issues experienced by the latest generation of MacBook Pro owners. At least the keyboard sounds quieter for sure.
More significant innovations are hidden under the hood. The 15-inch model can now be equipped with the latest generation of six-core Intel Core i7 and i9 processors (2.9 GHz, 4.8 GHz in turbo mode). The maximum RAM for this model is 32GB and storage is 4TB. Discrete Radeon Pro graphics are also available.
The MacBook Pro 13 has slightly more modest options: Core i7 and i5 processors with integrated Iris Plus graphics, as well as up to 16GB of RAM and 2TB SSD. The new generation uses more power-hungry DDR4 RAM to achieve 32GB capacity, which should impact battery life. However, in TechCrunch that Apple has slightly increased the batteries of the models, and users will not notice the deterioration.
In addition, the changes include support for True Tone technology in the displays of the new MacBook Pro. This function adapts the color gamut of the screen to the environment. Apple has brought another iOS feature to the Mac - now laptops respond to the “Hey Siri” command to call the voice assistant.
Thus, the prices for the basic versions of the MacBook Pro 13 and 15 are 144,990 and 194,990 rubles, respectively. But the maximum configuration set a new price record within this line - $ 6,699 (it has not yet been announced in the Russian Apple Store). Along with the start of sales of the new generation, the delivery of the 2015 MacBook Pro is discontinued, the owners of which were experiencing problems with the keyboard.
In addition, along with computers, Apple has released leather cases for both MacBook Pro models. Recall that for the first time such an accessory appeared for, and then the iPad Pro got it. Now, owners of Apple laptops can purchase a similar case at a price of 14,990 rubles. In the Russian Apple Store, you can already order fresh accessories, and laptops are not yet available for purchase.
