Previously, I stored my notes and the information I needed in various places on the Web and on my devices: Google Drive, in the iOS applications “Notes” and “Reminders”, Pocket, and so on. Do you understand what I'm getting at? All information was split into parts and access to it was not so convenient. I didn't realize it then, but now that I use Evernote, organizing the information I need is much more centralized and accessible.

When I started using Evernote a few years ago, it was very simple: you upload a note to the service, give it a name and that's it. I liked the fact that I can calmly photograph the necessary information or text and know that it will never be lost, plus the text from the photo is converted into a text document. For a long time, that's the only way I've used Evernote. Very simple, but incredibly convenient.

But recently, I started looking for ways to improve Evernote and realized that it has changed. Now it is a whole system for working with information, which is supported even by third-party software and hardware vendors. Dozens of assistant applications have been written for Evernote and devices have been created to make it easier to work with it, and here are the best of them.

Imagine how easy it is to sort through a pile of papers by simply dropping them into your Evernote account. Without wires and unnecessary actions. The main goal of Evernote is to organize information in a way that will be most convenient for the user. Scansnap Scanner does this job perfectly.

It scans your documents and automatically categorizes them: work documents, business cards, photos, certificates, etc. And all this is done with the click of a button. You simply load a stack of your documents into the scanner and when the scan is complete, you receive a notification on your smartphone.

Zapier

With the all-out fashion to automate everything and everyone, applications for this have appeared. Many people know about, but there is a similar service called Zapier. This service has many more recipes for Evernote. I counted about 240 services with which you can link your Evernote account. Therefore, if you did not find the functionality you need in IFTTT, then you can search for it in Zapier.

Web Clipper for iPad and iPhone

Android users are very fortunate. In just two clicks, they can send the necessary information from the browser to Evernote. What should iOS users do? There are several ways:

  • EverClip application that works in a similar way to a web clipper.
  • By sending the page you need by mail to [email protected] (instead of xxxxx - your nickname)

Also, on the Evernote website, another method is indicated. Personally, it didn't work for me, but you can try.

  1. Copy this code to clipboard on iPad or iPhone

    javascript: (function () {EN_CLIP_HOST = 'https://www.evernote.com'; try {var x = document.createElement ('SCRIPT'); x.type = 'text / javascript'; x.src = EN_CLIP_HOST + '/public/bookmarkClipper.js?'+(new Date (). getTime () / 100000); document.getElementsByTagName (' head ') [0].appendChild (x);} catch (e) {location.href = EN_CLIP_HOST + '/ clip.action? Url =' + encodeURIComponent (location.href) + '& title=' + encodeURIComponent (document.title);}}) ();

  2. Open the bookmark menu in the browser, click "Edit" and select any bookmark.
  3. Paste the copied code into the address of the bookmark and rename it to "Save to Evernote".
  4. Save your bookmark.

After that, no matter what page you are on, just click on the bookmarks menu, select this bookmark and the open page will be saved to your notebook.

The Evernote team developed Skitch so that you can add graphic elements to your notes and easily share them with others. This is a very simple and quick way to highlight the necessary information or draw attention to it using the arrows. Therefore, if you post your notes frequently, with Skitch you will be able to do it much faster.

Compared to other apps, the web clipper looks a bit corny, but it's the coolest addition to Evernote. It allows you to save all the information found on the Internet in a convenient form. If you want to save the whole article, then only the article will be saved without ads, unnecessary links and other nonsense. If you want to save a part of the page, just select the desired section and it will be saved to your notebook. The web clipper is available for all popular browsers Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera.
