Perfect order means having the right things in place. However, did you ever go into the closet for a shirt and pull out a sweater from the shelf that you haven't worn for several months? Or, disassembling kitchen cabinets, stumble upon a bread machine that has been used for exactly a week after purchase? Or maybe you have a full apartment of old unnecessary furniture, but it's a pity to throw it away? It's time to turn unused things into something more useful - money, for example.

So, you have decided which thing is not used by you, but may be useful to someone else. Where do you start?

  1. Make the thing presentable. If these are clothes, they should be washed and ironed; electronics - cleaned of dust, if possible, find packaging and all accompanying accessories; furniture - free from objects lying in / on it. It should be understood that the better your product looks, the more people will want to buy it.
  2. Take a picture of the thing. Use as many angles as possible and avoid duplicate photos. It is better to take a photo of all the flaws of the device at once - this will cause the location and help to avoid misunderstandings when meeting with potential buyers. It is advisable to photograph a piece of clothing on a person, with a separate picture of particularly noteworthy details, for example, beautiful buttons or unusual edging of pockets. If you sell a sofa, take photos both assembled and unfolded. General rule: the number of photos of one item should not exceed 3-4 pieces.
  3. Process the photos. Do not get carried away with Photoshop - let the thing look the way it really is, you just need to make the image size suitable for posting on the web. The universal rule is the maximum image size along the long side of 500 pixels.
  4. Come up with ad text. It should be concise, but give comprehensive information about the product model, key characteristics, date of purchase, intensity of use, cost and reason for sale. For electronics, it is desirable to provide a link to the manufacturer's website. Do not forget to indicate where it will be more convenient to meet with the buyer, and for bulky items - whether you need self-pickup or are you ready to deliver the goods yourself.
  5. Post your ad. Free classifieds sites, for example, www.irr.ru and www.avito.ru require registration, after which you can post an unlimited number of ads. At the Hammer online auction, you can set a starting price and wait for the end of the auction, or immediately designate the desired amount of reward. Also, if you have a blog on LiveJournal, do not forget about thematic communities, for example, ru_market.
