Scientists have found that you can become more collected and sane just by looking at a certain type of pictures.
Researchers from Israel have found. that images depicting cold landscapes allow people to increase cognitive control. And this, in turn, helps them better solve various problems.
For the experiment, the scientists divided the subjects into two groups. The first was shown pictures related to the summer, and the second - with the winter. All of them were asked to imagine themselves inside the proposed landscapes, and then to complete the task: to look in the opposite direction from the moving object. Dealing with it can be difficult, because the eyes automatically focus on the object of movement.
However, those who previously looked at the "cold" images passed the test more successfully.
Researchers note that contemplation of warm landscapes relaxes a person, and cold ones alarms and makes the brain work more actively.
It must be said that the direct effect of temperature causes a similar reaction. But the fact that you can become more focused just by looking at the cold is amazing.
So the next time you have to tackle a difficult task or just calm your emotions, try looking at some winter image. Suddenly it works.
