Adidas miCoach app review
Adidas miCoach app review

Today I finally got the chance to test the adidas miCoach iPhone app. Having rummaged through the settings on the site, I completely forgot that I changed the language from English to Russian in the settings of my profile. Therefore, the girl's voice, announcing the distance traveled in Russian, was a little confusing.

In general, I really liked the application. But miCoach works best in conjunction with other mobile running gadgets, of which Adidas has quite a lot.

If you have a heart rate monitor and sensor for The Speed Cell sneakers, in addition to the standard information (run time, route map, distance, speed, calories burned and change in elevation), you also get a change in heart rate and number of steps.

The graphs are built on the basis of the data received during the training. The screenshot shows an example of a graph built on the basis of my running pace during the run (the x scale is the time, the y scale is the running pace).

At the bottom in the "Overlay" you can select additional options (cadence and lift).

What was especially pleasing was the display of tracks during training. Here, in fact, under which songs did my run go:)

In the "Sharing information" section, you can set up automatic posting of workout results, new goals and personal records to FB, Twitter and miCoach.

In the "Plans" section, you can choose a training session in various sports (tennis, running, football, basketball, training for women, etc.)

You can also keep your workout calendar and receive email reminders that you have a workout scheduled for today.

Plus you can print your calendar or export it to any calendar that supports the iCalendar format.

There is an interesting option for coaches, whose wards are scattered in distant places. By creating your training plan and adding participants there, you can track their results from a distance. Of course, this is not the best option to control the team, but there are different cases and if there is an opportunity to follow the training even so, it is better not to miss the opportunity.

In terms of training, you can choose both free training and specially prepared plans that allow you to achieve certain results. For example, run a distance of 5 km faster. By choosing this type of workout, you get a scheduled exercise plan and customize it for yourself.

I have not tested this option yet, as there you need to complete the entire course. But in theory, when you set up such plans for yourself during training, you get comments from your virtual trainer (faster, slower, etc.).

It is too early to summarize the results of this application - there are a lot of interesting options, especially when you have additional mobile gadgets, of which miCoach has a fairly wide selection.

And I, perhaps, will switch back to English:)
