10 bright clips of spring

Childish Gambino - This Is America

One day in May, the world went crazy: everyone watched the video of Donald Glover, began to throw it off to friends, shoot reactions on YouTube and analyze hidden meanings. The shocking clip, unusual dance moves and swinging beat were liked even by those indifferent to the problems of African Americans.

Christina Aguilera - Accelerate

The return of Christina Aguilera is one of the most important musical events of the year. The new album will be released on June 15th. The singer has already presented three singles from it, the brightest of which is Accelerate. The tenacious chorus and almost native voice make you wait for the release even more, and the clip shows that at 37, Aguilera managed to remain just as attractive and provocative. Even without makeup.

Eminem - Framed

We hear the word "rap", we mean Eminem - this associative link is firmly embedded in the millennial subcortex, despite the fact that the performer himself has long appeared in the charts only sporadically. This time, Marshall Matters seems to have managed to do something really funny: in the horror video for the song Framed, he appears as an insane maniac. The video did not become a hit, and one would hardly want to re-watch it, but such mischief is still more interesting than many of Eminem's latest videos, where he simply raps against the backdrop of beautiful landscapes.

Ivan Dorn - Afrika

Dorn's resounding album OTD continues to bear fruit. This spring a video for Afrika was released - the same track with the refrain What about you? and cool bass synth play.

In the video, Ivan is dancing, playing and having fun with the kids from the Ugandan dance studio Masaka Kids Africana. There is a feeling that the camera simply did not turn off - the clip scenes turned out to be so natural and energetic. There are also many cool and infectious dances here that you will most likely never be able to do.

Husky - "Judas"

The new Husky video turned out to be even darker and more cinematic than the previous ones: the characters of “Judas” seemed to have left the footage of Danny Boyle's “Trainspotting”. The clip was directed by Lado Quatania, who worked with Oxxxymiron and Ilya Naishuller. If you like the aesthetics of Trainspotting, Dealer Refn and domestic crime dramas of the 90s, Judas will appeal to you.

Philip Kirkorov - "The color of the mood is blue"

Many pop artists of the 90s try to organically fit into modern pop culture, but only one succeeded. A not bad song, a script by Ivan Urgant, a dozen guest stars, a couple of swear words from the pop king and skillful use of rapper clichés - all this breaks templates, evokes a smile and respect.

Alena Sviridova - "Grass"

Another example of a successful return to the stage is presented by the performer of Poor Sheep and Pink Flamingo. In "Travushka" there is no attempt to fit into the modern context, no desire to attract attention by provocation or the use of some fashionable tricks. It's just great acoustic folk music. Perhaps the best that Alena Sviridova did.

"Casta" - "At the other end"

But no one had time to forget the Rostov four, but they continue to position themselves as oldies who do not get into modern trends. However, perhaps this is just a way to stand up in opposition to dubious newcomers. Better "Skrep", of course, there is nothing to do, but "At the other end" turned out to be quite good: there are invited stars, a simple plot, reminiscent of a set of sketches, and a lot of self-irony.

ɅAVA - "Sign"

“What was fashionable there in the 90s? Silly glasses? Dancing to the chorus? Stroboscopes? Let's get everything and more! " - it seems that the members of the ɅAVA group said something similar to the director before shooting the video. After "Znak" all stylizations under the 90s seem like childish babble. This is really a clip and a song from those times. They even used a 1986 Sequential Prophet sampler synthesizer for the recording. Nostalgic people simply cannot find more authentic music.

IOWA - "You are silent on me"

A light note on which I would like to end the selection is a new IOWA song about two quarreling lovers. This is just a good pop song with recognizable vocals by Ekaterina Ivanchikova, which will appeal to fans of the group's creativity. The clip tells us about a serious quarrel with the destruction of the opponent's favorite things in slo-mo and reconciliation at the end.
