The system quick access panel is convenient and familiar, but it cannot boast of an abundance of settings and functions. The capabilities of third-party launchers are much richer. If you've been thinking about replacing the dock with a more powerful counterpart, here are three possible contenders.
1. ActiveDock
A full-fledged launcher that has the function of disabling the standard dock and completely replaces it. With a wide range of skins, ActiveDock can be customized to look like or completely different from the system dock.
One of the advantages of the launcher is the Start Menu and Show Desktop applets. They work in a similar way to those in Windows, allowing you to navigate through folders, applications and settings, and minimize and maximize all windows in one click. Unlike previous utilities, SuperTab is not a direct dock replacement. This is an alternative menu for switching applications, which is so fancy that it can easily take over the functions of the dock.
