GoPro unveils new Hero5 action cameras and Karma quadcopter

The most famous manufacturer of action cameras has released two new Hero5 models and entered a new market for quadcopters.

The updated line of GoPro action cameras is represented by two models at once: Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session. The first is equipped with a 12-megapixel camera and a 2-inch touchscreen display. There is the ability to record video with a resolution of 4K at 30 frames per second, shooting in RAW and voice control. The camera has a GPS module, and without an additional cover it can be immersed in water to a depth of ten meters. The Hero5 Black will cost $ 400.

The Hero5 Session is a smaller version of the GoPro action camera. It has a cubic shape and a 10-megapixel sensor. Video shooting capabilities are similar to Hero5 Black. There is voice control and traditional water protection. The manufacturer asks for $ 300 for the Hero5 Session.

GoPro's first quadcopter is called the Karma and will cost potential buyers $ 800. It should be noted right away that the drone is not equipped with a camera and a mount for it: they will have to be purchased separately. The GoPro Karma with a camera mount has already surpassed $ 1,000. To be fair, we note that the camera mount is a three-axis stabilizer that can be used separately from the quadcopter, so it partially justifies its price.

As for the Karma, it has a top speed of 56 km / h with a top altitude of four kilometers. The drone can move away from the control panel at a distance of up to a kilometer. The quadrocopter weighs one kilogram, and charging is enough for about 20 minutes of flight. A remote control is used for control, similar to a portable console with a touch screen.
