Updated Inbox by Gmail: calendar integration, link storage and other features

Google today updated its Inbox email service with three new features that will help you organize your correspondence correctly, keep an eye on important events and keep all your information secure.

Track events from "Google Calendar"

The life of a modern person is very dynamic, and sometimes a pre-planned day can change right on the fly. Inbox can now keep track of all events marked in the calendar, find emails associated with them in the mail and display them all together. In this case, any change in the calendar will be automatically synchronized with the mail client. Thus, you only need to take one glance at your Inbox to refresh your memory of upcoming events and related correspondence.

Convenient presentation of newsletters

The second innovation will delight those readers who subscribe to many mailing lists. If you have accumulated several issues of the same mailing list in your Inbox, then a kind of digest will be automatically generated on their basis, presenting their content in a short form. Thus, readers will be able to find out all the most important of these letters without having to open each one individually (although this possibility still remains). This feature currently only works with mailing lists of the most popular sites, however, Google promises that their range will gradually expand.

Saving links to Inbox

Many users use their mailbox to store links to web pages that they want to view, use in work or forward to someone. Now it will be much easier to send any link to yourself. On mobile devices running Android and iOS, you can use the standard system menu "Share" for this, where now there is a new item Save to Inbox (the corresponding application must be installed). And for users of the Chrome browser on desktops, a special extension has been released, with which you can send a link to your mailbox in one click.
