If your child is in first grade, then he is most likely used to small backpacks and will tearfully demand the same for school. But do not forget: the knapsack should be roomy, because the newly-made student will have to carry albums, workbooks and A4 textbooks with them.

According to orthopedists, an elementary school student should not carry more than 10% of his own weight behind his back.

Without contents, a school backpack should weigh no more than 1 kilogram.

Material

Remember one of the main criteria: the material of the backpack must be durable, because your child will have to walk with it 5-6 days a week.

It is also very good if the material is frost-resistant and water-repellent. Think back to your school days: downhill slides, snowball games, various outings with schoolmates - a backpack must match its active owner.

Often, schoolchildren simply dump their backpacks on the ground when they play in the school grounds, without bothering to find a cleaner place. Knowing this, make the hard life of a parent of a student easier for yourself - choose a backpack that is easy to clean and wash.

Colour

We all know what kind of backpacks children love: bright, colorful, with images of the heroes of their favorite games and cartoons. The manufacturers of school bags know this very well, so most of the backpacks that you find in stores will be just like that.

So if your child wants such a colorful satchel, then you have no reason to refuse him.

Do not forget:

The traffic police recommends that the color of the backpack is bright, and there are reflective elements along its edges - then it will be easier for drivers to notice your child when he is about to cross the road.

Price

The price of school backpacks varies greatly. The approximate range is from 700 to 4,000 rubles.

Remember that you cannot save on the health and comfort of your child, so you should not buy the cheapest models.

Other things to keep in mind

The backpack should have several outer pockets and a roomy inner compartment. The inner compartment should contain several more compartments so that the child can conveniently arrange all the necessary school supplies.
Locks and zippers should be comfortable and reliable: the child should cope with them easily and independently.
A schoolbag should not only be reliable and comfortable - your child should also like it, do not forget about it.
