This is where the MeetingBar comes in handy. This is a small and completely free program for macOS that will settle in your notification area and will tell you when and with whom you have to call next time. Now, to remember the scheduled conference, all you have to do is look up at the system clock. Very comfortably.
You can install MeetingBar by downloading it from the AppStore. After that, you will be asked to choose from which source to pull up meeting information. There is Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts, Google Calendar, Outlook Live and Outlook Office 365. You can also choose how long before the meeting starts to remind you of it.
The upcoming meeting will be displayed in the notification area. Nearby is a timer showing how much time is left before the event. By clicking on the notification area, you will see a drop-down list of all the events scheduled for today. If you choose Google Calendar as a data source, then MeetingBar will bring up all your tasks for today as a bonus.
When the time comes for the next meeting, you will just have to click the Join next event meeting button and the MeetingBar will open your messenger itself and connect it to the desired conference. Or, if an event started earlier than planned, you can simply click on its name in the list. Then the conference will open out of turn. And the Create meeting button allows you to quickly create and schedule a meeting.
MeetingBar does not have many settings, but some of them are quite useful. On the Services tab, you can choose in which application the program should open meeting links. By default, this is done in your browser. However, you can change the settings to force meetings to open directly in the Zoom or Teams apps. You can also choose in which service the program should create new meetings when you click the Create meeting button.
On the Appearance tab, you can select whether to show the name of the upcoming conference in the notification area (if necessary, this information is hidden). It is also possible to adjust the length of the displayed event headers so that they do not occupy half of the screen.
It does not hurt to enable the Show event details as submenu option: it allows you to find out the details of the meeting in the list by hovering the mouse over it.
On the Calendars tab, specify the calendars from which you want to import events. And the Advanced tab is useful for advanced users who know how to work with AppleScript. The program will run your scripts when you join a conference - for example, to automatically pause the music player.
Finally, on the start page of the settings, you can enable MeetingBar autostart at system startup. And indicate how long before the start of meetings to show notifications.
In general, if you work from home and video conferencing has become a routine for you, you will definitely like MeetingBar.
