If most of the tasks, assignments and requests come to you precisely through this channel, then it is quite natural to regard these letters as tasks. However, using a mailbox as a to-do list may not always be convenient, simply because it was created for other purposes. A Chrome browser extension called Sortd removes this mail drawback and makes Gmail the perfect to-do list.

The Sortd extension is a Gmail inbox add-on that completely transforms its interface. After installing it, you have the opportunity to sort letters into several lists, presented in the form of separate vertical panels. By default, there are four of these lists, which are named To-Do, Follow Up, List 1 and List 2. You can easily change these names, delete or add additional task lists.

Sortd operates in two modes. In the first, you'll use the regular Gmail interface, which displays a narrow pane of the main Sortd task list on the right. The second mode completely replaces Gmail and allows you to use all available task lists.

Distribution of letters among the lists is carried out by simple drag and drop. When you click on any letter with the right mouse button, a context menu appears, with the help of which you can mark this task as completed, delete, archive. A simple click opens the content of the letter in a pop-up window, where, among other things, you can add your notes to the letter.
