Why postpone weekends and holidays

In 2018, several holidays fall in the middle of the week at once: Thursday 8 March, Tuesday 1 May, Tuesday 12 June.

Holidays are diluted with working days, so you won't plan any trips, camping trips with an overnight stay or visiting guests. Moreover, a working day surrounded by a weekend is unlikely to be productive.

To remedy this situation, the government adopted the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated October 14, 2017 No. 1250 "On the transfer of weekends in 2018" "On the transfer of weekends in 2018".

Since the holidays of January 6 and 7 fall on Saturday and Sunday, the weekend has been postponed to other dates. Due to Saturday, January 6, we will rest on Friday March 9, which means that the celebration of March 8 will stretch for four days.

The day off from Sunday, January 7, was moved to Wednesday, May 2, and from Saturday, April 28, to Monday, April 30. As a result, we will rest from April 29 to May 2.

The weekend from Saturday June 9 was moved to Monday June 11 so that we could rest for three days in a row: from June 10 to June 12.

Monday December 31st promised to be the most unproductive work day of the year, so it was made a day off. Now you have to work on Saturday, December 29, but then you can go on a long New Year's holidays.
