However, the performance of the new Apple A12 Bionic processor is not as high as we were told at the presentation.

At its September 12 presentation, Apple put a lot of emphasis not only on photographic capabilities, but also on productivity. Much attention was paid to the Apple A12 Bionic processor with its "ten-core" architecture. However, the amount of RAM was left "overboard". Thanks to the Geekbench benchmark, it became known that the iPhone Xs and Xs Max are the first smartphones from the company with 4 GB of RAM.

However, the more affordable iPhone Xr still comes with 3GB. Also in the Geekbench test cards there is information about the power of the new A12 Bionic processor. Judging by the test results, the new product is not much more powerful than the previous generations, in contrast to the official statements at the presentation. The performance gap between the new and the previous generation iPhones is only about 800 points on the Geekbench benchmark.

That being said, the difference between the premium Xs Max with 4 GB of RAM and the Xr with 3 GB is small. The single-core test results of both smartphones are almost the same - around 4,800 points. And in the multi-core test, the Xs Max beats the Xr by just 1,000 points.

We will remind, sales of iPhone Xs and Xs Max in Russia will start on 28 September. The Xr will have to wait - pre-orders won't start until October.
