These are the first Apple smartphones with dual SIM support. Also, the company has completely switched to a new "frameless" design.
On September 12, Apple held a presentation of new devices at its Apple Park campus, among which there were three iPhone models. All of them are made in the design of last year's iPhone X, that is, they have an edge-to-edge screen and a small overhang at the top for cameras and sensors.
iPhone Xs
The iPhone Xs is a planned update with major changes under the hood. The body of the device is made of aluminum and complies with the IP68 protection standard. Display diagonal - 5.8 inches with a resolution of 2436 × 1125 pixels (458 ppi).
The processor uses Apple's own A12 Bionic, the company's first 7-nanometer chip. The ten-core architecture (6 cores for compute and 4 for graphics) provides excellent performance. The storage of the new iPhone Xs is limited to 512GB. At the same time, the Xs lasts 30 minutes longer on battery than the iPhone X.
The speakers of the new products provide stereo immersion in any media content - be it games, movies or music. The top notch, also referred to as the "bangs," is still occupied by sensors and cameras not only for selfies, but also for safely unlocking the device using the wearer's face.
iPhone Xs Max
This model became the largest in the history of the iPhone line in terms of display diagonal - 6.5 inches with a resolution of 2688 × 1242 pixels. As a matrix, Apple engineers chose OLED (Super Retina) technology tested on last year's iPhone X.
The increase in the autonomy of the iPhone Xs Max is 1 hour and 30 minutes in comparison with the iPhone X.
iPhone Xs and Xs Max support two SIM cards simultaneously thanks to eSIM technology (physical SIM + virtual eSIM). A version with two SIM card slots will be available in China.
iPhone Xr
The Xr model is an update for a niche that previously featured the discontinued iPhone SE. The diagonal of the LCD-display is 6.1 inches with a resolution of 1792 × 828 pixels. The processor is the same Apple A12 Bionic.
Runtime - 1 hour 30 minutes longer than iPhone 8 Plus.
