Simple ways to rid a vegetable of seeds and skins.
How to remove seeds from peppers
Chefs way
Place the peppers sideways on a cutting board and cut off the stem and bottom.
What you do next depends on whether you want to end up with rings or slices of pepper. In the first case, put it on one of the slices. Insert a knife into the hole between the pepper pulp and the seeds. Carefully guiding the blade along the side of the vegetable, cut through all the membranes and remove the core. Then the pepper can be cut into rings.
In the second case, cut the pepper lengthwise into two halves and use a knife to separate the flesh from the core.
Ready. The peppers can now be cut into pieces.
The classic way
Use a knife to make an incision around the stem, then pull on it, slightly rolling the core inside the pepper. Turn the vegetable upside down and tap it vigorously on the table several times so that the remaining seeds fall out.
Fast way
Take the peppers by the stalk. Use a knife to cut the slices of pulp from the sides of the vegetable. Cut off the bottom, and discard the core that remains in your hands.
Peeling pepper with your hands
Press down on the pepper around the stem with your finger several times to crack the flesh. Press the stalk into the vegetable: this will destroy the membranes that hold the core to the pulp. Pull the tail and remove the seeds.
Peeling pepper using a special device
There are special devices for cleaning pepper from seeds. These are plastic or metal cylinders that must be inserted into the vegetable so that the stalk is in the center of the device. Then the device is scrolled, the core remains inside it.
How to peel peppers
Peeler
Cut the peppers into slices and then peel off the skin with a vegetable peeler.
With hot water
Dip vegetables in boiling water for about a minute. Place the peppers in ice water for 10 seconds. Let them cool slightly and remove the skin.
Using the microwave
Microwave the peppers for about 2 minutes to soften but not bake. Cool the vegetable slightly, the skin will come off easily.
By firing
If it is not in nature and there is no fire at hand, you can use a regular gas burner. Put pepper on it and light the fire. Turn the vegetable over until the skin is charred.
The peel will come off easily, although the inside of the pepper itself will remain almost damp.
