Everyone has situations when they want to cheer or please themselves. Often for this we decide to eat something tasty, but not entirely healthy, or buy a new thing. We offer 23 ways to please yourself without resorting to unhealthy habits.
1. Take a nap
Sleep is a great way to pamper ourselves, as most of us don't get enough sleep all the time. To sleep even better, put on a clean pillowcase and spray some lavender or eucalyptus essential oil on your pillow.
2. Get a manicure or pedicure
Add a few drops of essential oil and shower gel to a bowl of warm water, dip your hands or feet into it, and play your favorite TV show. If you don't have a dedicated manicure and pedicure kit, simply push back the cuticle with a damp towel. Then use a scrub and apply your favorite nail polish.
3. Re-read your favorite book
Try to refrain from buying a new book, it is better to look for something interesting in the nearest library or re-read one of your favorite books.
4. Take time off for no reason
And don't do anything! Spend your day “unproductive”: get enough sleep, bake pancakes for breakfast, go for a walk, call friends who live in other time zones, write a letter to your grandmother. Take a nap after all.
5. Take a hot bath
Don't forget to add milk powder or flower petals, bath salt or foam. Play soothing music, light candles and relax.
6. Get yourself a movie marathon
Choose movies that don't require much attention, so you can fall asleep somewhere in the middle or go to the kitchen for popcorn. Movies that you have already seen are also suitable for this.
7. Listen to your favorite music
Make a selection of your favorite music without worrying about genres and directions, and don't be ashamed to add even the most ridiculous songs if you like them.
8. Visit an animal shelter
And you will get positive emotions, and you will not have to clean carpets and sofas from wool.
9. Go for a walk without your phone
Get out in nature without the distractions of email, Twitter, and Instagram. This will greatly increase the pleasure of the walk.
10. Make your own face mask
This is, of course, a cliché, but no less interesting for that. Chances are, you already have everything you need for your own mask in your kitchen.
11. Take a trip out of town
Surely not far from where you live, there is a river or lake, forest or mountains. Go for a country walk to help you relax and rejuvenate.
12. Watch YouTube Makeup Tutorials and Experiment
If you have a lot of makeup that you don't use, it's time to search YouTube for makeup tutorials. Want to learn how to outline or draw arrows correctly? Experiment!
13. Take a walk by the water with your loved one
This is great for relieving stress.
14. Make time for pleasure
No comments.
15. Go for a bike ride
Not for training, or for grocery shopping or walking the dog. Just go to some scenic spot where there aren't too many other cyclists. Do not try to go fast, rather watch what is happening around.
16. Listen to an interesting podcast
Lie on the couch and listen fully.
17. Take a look at the shop windows
It is no less interesting than real shopping. You can look at the windows and imagine where you would put this or that thing.
18. Go to the free museum
Almost every city has museums that you can visit for free. If your city still doesn't have them, look for various exhibitions to which admission is free. Perhaps there are certain days when no fees will be charged from exhibition visitors.
19. Observe people
Try people-watching in public places such as airports or train stations, large stadiums, and markets. Imagine what they do and what kind of life they have. It is very exciting.
20. Spend time with hair and makeup
Even if you are not going to any special event, pay more attention to your appearance. Perhaps taking the extra 10 minutes to paint your eyes or curl your hair will make you feel more confident.
21. Watch yoga or dance lessons on YouTube
It's a lot of fun and no one will know what you look like when you twerk. You can always rewind the video and repeat a certain exercise until you succeed (or until you get tired of laughing).
22. Go to the gym if you already have a membership, but not for training
If your gym has a sauna or hot tub, be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.
23. Shave your legs and change sheets
This feeling is incomparable. Just try it!
