It is very unpleasant when, during an important audio or video conference, the interlocutors cannot hear you, because you are in a noisy environment. The voices of strangers, the hum of cars, or a neighbor who decides to remove a couple of load-bearing walls in the house with a puncher - all this is not very conducive to productive conversations.

Fortunately, there is a way to deal with interfering noise without any hassle. Just install Krisp. This app uses machine learning technology to remove extraneous sounds from audio streams. Krisp supports Zoom, Hangouts, Skype, WebEx, GoToMeeting, RingCentral, BlueJeans, UberConference, Slack, and Apple Messenger.

The utility is incredibly easy to use. After installation and launch, the Krisp icon will settle in the tray of your Mac. Click it and you will see a menu with two radio buttons. The first one clears the voices of your interlocutors from extraneous noise. The second does the same with your voice.

Before making the first call, you need to specify Krisp as the audio source in your communication application. For example, in Skype, you can do this by going to the Skype menu bar → “Audio and Video Settings…” and then selecting the krisp microphone and krisp speaker virtual devices as microphone and speakers, respectively. In other messengers, the setting is performed in a similar way, details can be found on the application website.

Then make a call and make sure that even in a noisy room, the voices - both yours and those of your interlocutors - will be heard clearly and clearly. The fact that Krisp has started working will be indicated by a colored icon in the tray.

Note that clearing both microphone and speaker signals at the same time can put a strain on your Mac's processor. Therefore, it is best to enable this function only in noisy rooms.
