The Zapier automation service can work with filters and multi-actions. A life hacker shows with a live example how to use these functions.

Zapier creates "if an event occurs, then trigger an action" cause-effect relationship between social media, business tools, sports apps. Here he exactly repeats the idea of the only competitor - IFTTT. The main difference between automators comes down to the complexity of the recipes. IFTTT is limited to one trigger and one effect. Zapier adds additional action links to this chain and, most interestingly, intermediate filters.

Let's take an ordinary everyday situation as an example. There is Instagram, photos from which you want to automatically send to other social networks. It's good if these are only successful posts, so as not to tire your Facebook and Twitter friends with anything. IFTTT folds with these initial values, but Zapier is ready to go.

1. Setting up a trigger. Create a new app (recipe, applet) and select your Instagram feed. Set the trigger to "posted a new video or photo." Connect your Instagram account and test the trigger on it.

A large green caption will let you know that Zapier and Instagram have successfully connected. Click "Continue", after which you will be taken to action.

2. Set up the filter. Pay attention to the plus icon, which is inconspicuously located between the trigger and the effect in the graphical structure on the left. Click on the icon to add a filter.

Examine the offers and select the item with the number of likes. Set the threshold that, in your opinion, characterizes the post as successful. An additional parameter can be the number of comments - let's add this sorting as well.

3. Set up the action. Find your Twitter feed and set the action for it to "new tweet with image". Connect your Twitter profile and customize the tweet content. Optionally, this can be a link to the publication, text in the signature, time and place of creation.

Check your tweet parameters and run a dry test. If all goes well, Zapier will congratulate you on the successful creation of the stock and offer to turn it on for constant triggering. If you have any problems, they will tell you where to fix the inconsistencies.

Similarly, we add a second action in which the photo or video is redirected to Facebook. At the same time, Zapier allows you to activate several profiles of the same service, for example, Gmail mailboxes, and this is another killer function of the automator. We advise you to give them appropriate names so as not to get confused when forming zapas.

What application can you suggest to Zapier filters and multi-actions?
