And to make the taste of the fruit drink more interesting, add a pinch of cinnamon or a sprig of mint along with the sugar.
How to make cranberry juice
Be sure to sort out the cranberries. Discard stalks and leaves if you come across them. Do not leave spoiled and completely unripe berries.
Afterwards, rinse well under running water and discard in a colander to let the glass excess moisture.
Mash the prepared cranberries with a spoon or pusher, you can also use a blender.
Fold the berries in rolled cheesecloth in several layers and squeeze the juice out of them. Then strain the resulting juice through cheesecloth.
Another way is to simply rub the berries through a sieve.
Pour the resulting strained juice into a plastic or glass container. Leave at room temperature.
Place the cranberry cake in a saucepan. Cover with water and cover with sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, remove from heat and leave for 15-20 minutes. Strain again through a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
Cool and add cranberry juice.
Chill the resulting cranberry juice and serve.
