Do you often walk? If you don't have at least 20 minutes of walking a day on your schedule, you are missing out on a lot. Thinking creatively, reducing stress, better concentration - walking can be a cure for a creative crisis, the main thing is to make them regular.

Why is it so important to take yourself out for a walk
Why is it so important to take yourself out for a walk

Now many people suffer from low mobility, although just 15-20 minutes of walking every day can heal all the symptoms of this curse of our time. Emotional recession, stagnation, lack of new ideas - walking helps to recover from these troubles. But how can you force yourself to get out of the house if you are not used to walking every day? Here are some facts that will convince you to adopt this healthy habit.

Walking - what could be easier? You just leave the house and go where your eyes are. Nevertheless, for many, this is a difficult test. Even going out for a walk, many people prefer to sit somewhere in a cafe near the house, sit there for two hours, and then go home by taxi. In general, all this is sad, and in the meantime, simple walks can give us so much …

Cheer and reboot

Think back to the last time you walked. Is it possible to remain lethargic after a walk, of course, if you have slept well and are not sick? For example, after a walk, it is much easier for me to force myself to do the necessary things, be it sports, cleaning the house, or something else.

As for unloading: being in a closed room, you are not distracted by extraneous stimuli and are completely immersed in your problems. In the fresh air, and especially in nature, you are surrounded by many irritants that prevent you from plunging into the abyss of your problems.

From my own experience, I can say that it works: when you leave the house loaded with your problems (of course, with music in your player) and go wandering around the city, cool optimistic solutions to problems arise by themselves, and you come home in a great mood.

Concentration and willpower

As you know, our ability to concentrate and willpower are not limitless resources, and by the end of the working day they are practically depleted.

If every time you have the urge to check your social media account or go to an entertainment site, you replace that entertainment with a 15-minute walk, the feeling will be completely different.

After the walk, you will have more energy, your thoughts will be clearer, and it will be easier to concentrate on your work after a break.

More creative energy

Even Nietzsche, in his book Ecce Homo, How They Become Oneself, wrote:

Sit as little as possible; not to trust a single thought that was not born in the air and in free movement … A sedentary life - I have already said once - is a true sin.

Also, take a notebook and a pen with you for a walk. Suddenly inspiration will attack you, and you will urgently need to write down the elusive ideas.

How to organize walks

It may seem that there is no time for walks in the morning or in the evenings, but this is just an illusion. After all, you only have to find 20 minutes.

You can "walk" the allotted time at lunchtime, for example, go to a cafe that is a little further from your office than you are used to. In the morning, you can walk to a distant public transport stop or a distant metro station.

During a morning walk, you can simply let your thoughts float freely or ask yourself some goal before going out: solve a problem, come up with a concept, outline a plan for the day. You can do the same during the evening promenade - just set a goal for yourself and let go of your thoughts.

Time and variety

You can choose any time for your walk. For example, some people prefer to walk closer to the night. Yes, they do not benefit from sunlight, but such walks can have a calming effect: a minimum of people and cars, night coolness and tranquility.

Some people prefer to go for a walk right after work - to stretch out after a day at the office table and refresh their thoughts.

In general, if you really don't want to walk in your free time, try doing it at a different time of the day. Perhaps this is the case.

Now about the route. Of course, it is better to choose natural areas: walking in the forest or in the park, you relieve stress and generally improve your mood.

Even the consequences of chronic stress are easier to eliminate in natural conditions: pressure stabilizes, muscle tension decreases and the amount of stress hormones decreases.

But for people living far from parks and natural areas, there is one consolation - the level of creative energy does not depend on the route.

Moreover creativity increases from the very process of walking, and not from contemplation of the beauties of nature … Maybe your stress will not be reduced as effectively as in the bosom of nature, but creativity in any case will be at the level.
