Password managers store not only personal app and dating site data, but also more important accounts. Including - data for access to credit and debit cards, accounts, personal accounts for paying bills and much more. What will happen to them if misfortune happens? How will loved ones be able to pay bills or medical treatment if an accident occurs with the owner of the passwords, which will lead to disability or even sudden death?

LastPass has addressed this issue by adding Emergency Access to the feature. With its help, you can assign specific email addresses from which you can request access to specific passwords. If you try to access using one of these addresses, LastPass will notify the primary owner of the passwords. In the event that the notification does not receive a response within the specified waiting time, the user logged in under the "emergency" email will have access to predefined categories of accounts and passwords from the database.

Although it looks like a time bomb, the developers left the option to adjust the waiting period, making it quite long. However, the function can simply be disabled and not used at all.
