Every day we write dozens of articles for you, where we talk about how useful it is to do exercises in the morning, eat healthy food, exercise regularly, and so on. Many people listen to our advice and add to their list of tasks the items "Do exercises", "Read a book for 30 minutes", "Smile for 10 minutes" and so on. And some, following our advice, still complete all the tasks on their list for the day.

And this is probably good. But this is very annoying. You need (!) To complete these tasks. In practice, this process is under pressure. It would be much better if we performed similar tasks (sports, reading, self-study) just like that. Just because we wanted to do it. Just because we are used to doing it.

And this is where the question arises. How do we make something become our habit? Is it possible? And we have the answers to these questions. First, yes, it is possible. You can make anything your habit. Secondly, there are many tools out there to help you do this.

How to develop a habit

In general, everything is very simple. Repeating the same action on a regular basis will make it a habit. Our author Sasha Murakhovsky believes that it takes 21 days to repeat the action. That is, if you get up every morning for 21 days and force yourself to do exercises, then on about the 22nd day it will become a habit for you. And then you no longer need to force yourself. You will just do it because you are used to it.

It is not a fact that you will develop a habit in 21 days. You may have to torture yourself for much longer. I believe in the number 60. In two whole months, I think, you can get used to anything. And it is much more effective to change not everything at once, but to do it gradually. Start by adding sports to your life. Exercise → running → gym. Sports have some good effect, which makes you want to eat healthy food, get more active at work, and so on.

Instruments

Your progress needs to be recorded. This will help you remember how long you have been developing the habit. Visualizing your progress will also positively influence your motivation. The motivation you need to push yourself daily, such as exercising. Motivation to help you become better. Motivation to make your life easier.

Alternatively, you can have a regular paper notebook and record your progress there. Or even just draw a table on A4 sheet, where the line will correspond to the habit, and the columns - to the days. And you will tick or cross every day when you do your exercises. But this is not the best way to record your progress. After all, we live in such a wonderful time when there is a smartphone application for every task. And not even one - there are tens and hundreds of them.

Most of the great habit-building apps are for some reason made exclusively in English. Android and iOS app developers, please note. This is not spam, but a real opportunity to make money. Make a beautiful and useful application, and it will find its client.
