7 mistakes in life everyone can make
7 mistakes in life everyone can make

This article is part of the "" project. In it we talk about relationships with ourselves and others. If the topic is close to you, share your story or opinion in the comments. Will wait!

1. Choose the wrong profession

Only half of Russians work in their specialty. This is not surprising, because we choose our profession when we are still teenagers. We can be pressured by parents and teachers. We can not imagine what we want, not be guided by the labor market. And even if we were confident in our choice, our interests could change over time.

Sociologists believe that today's children will change their field of activity about five times in their entire life. This trend is already being felt: the world is very dynamic, education is becoming more accessible, new professions are emerging, including those that can be mastered rather quickly.

If you suddenly realize that you do not want to work in your specialty anymore, do not blame yourself. Don't feel like you're wasting your time. Your career path has surely given you valuable experience, knowledge and skills. Therefore, you can finish one story with a clear conscience and start the next. Think about what interests you and where you would like to move next. Choose a strategy and start making your plans a reality.

2. Make a mistake in choosing a partner

Maybe you went out on a date with someone uninteresting. Maybe stuck in an unhappy relationship for a few years. Or maybe they entered into a marriage that eventually fell apart and left behind bitterness and disappointment. In any case, remember: you are not alone. In Russia, every second registered union ends in divorce. One of the main reasons is misunderstanding between spouses, different interests and outlook on life.

Breaking up doesn't make you a failure. You're just out of luck. Give yourself a chance for a new, happier life. Negative experiences can help you better understand your needs, choose your partner more carefully, and defend personal boundaries. This means that the likelihood of building harmonious relationships is significantly higher.

3. Buy what you can't afford

Mistakes in life: everyone once bought things beyond their means

There are times when you really want to buy something expensive, but there is no money for it. The most strong-willed keep themselves in control and save up for the coveted thing. And the rest are borrowing: half of Russians have loans.

Of course, unreasonable spending is a road to nowhere. They bring short-term happiness and financial problems. Debts are piling up, it is impossible to postpone, which means that you can raise your standard of living too. But even if you borrowed and made a rash purchase, self-flagellation will not help in any way. Chances are, you are in this situation because emotions have drowned out common sense. It's very human.

Do not scold yourself, but pump your financial literacy to get rid of debt, control your budget and start saving.

4. Lose an important person

Friends and loved ones can disappear from our lives, and sometimes we ourselves are to blame. We quarrel, we do not devote enough time, we are rude. Such losses do not go unnoticed and can be very burdensome.

If you have ruined a relationship with someone close and there is not a single chance to establish it, you can at least take a lesson from this situation. Think about where you went wrong and what to do to avoid repeating something like this next time.

Let's say you were jealous of your partner, tried to control him, but he could not stand such pressure and left. Then you should understand the origins of your jealousy - it often appears due to self-doubt - and work through this moment on your own or with a psychologist. Or maybe you quarreled with a friend over some trifle, and then pride prevented you from making up. Such a story can show how important it is to talk with dear people, not to accumulate resentment and discuss unpleasant situations.

5. Give up on your dreams

Dreams are dreams, but you want to eat right here and now, so some abandon them in favor of more mundane things. And it also happens that no one supports a person, so their own aspirations begin to seem stupid. Or failure happens and completely undermines your faith in yourself. As a result, the desire to write poetry, travel or live in a bungalow on the ocean is relegated to the background.

And that's okay too! Some dreams have to wait long in the wings, while others are not destined to come true at all. You do what happens in specific circumstances. Your experience is no less valuable, and your life is less fulfilling.

6. Give money to scammers

There is a popular opinion that only fools become victims of swindlers, and smart people smell them a mile away. But this is certainly not the case. Don't underestimate scammers. They are very inventive: they constantly change tactics, put pressure on the patient, they are perfectly able to manipulate, use a person's weaknesses to their advantage. For example, they call early in the morning, when the victim is still poorly understood, and introduce themselves as bank employees. Or they create phishing sites that differ from the real ones by one letter in the address.

As a result, 9% of Russians lose large sums due to the actions of fraudsters. And another 33% admit that they or their relatives have encountered such swindlers.

If this happens to you too, don't blame yourself. Just try to be more vigilant: learn more about fraudulent schemes and, before transferring money to someone who is not clear, take a break and understand the situation.

7. Believe in different game

Mistakes in life: everyone was once mistaken
Mistakes in life: everyone was once mistaken

Horoscopes, esotericism, homeopathy, the harm of vaccinations, a conspiracy of Masons … If you seriously believe in this and convince others that doctors are intriguing to us, long skirts help to collect energy from the earth, and Capricorns do not get along with Scorpios, after an epiphany it can become painfully ashamed …

But there is no person in the world who is always guided only by logic. Pseudo-doctrines, conspiracy theories and other anti-scientific concepts evoke strong emotions in us, deftly mix facts with fiction, and can make even a seasoned skeptic think for a while. And someone vulnerable or inexperienced and even more so. For example, 15% of Russians surveyed believe in astrology, 52% have a positive attitude towards traditional medicine, healers and sorcerers, while 28% do not trust traditional doctors.

If you have ever been mistaken, try to admit and accept it. Now you have become wiser and more readable. Praise yourself for developing critical thinking and learning new things, otherwise you would have continued to believe in stupidity.
