Even the cheapest coffee will benefit.
The creator of the legendary Twin Peaks and Inland Empire David Lynch once told Obsessed: Coffee: "Even bad coffee is better than none." And the venerable connoisseur of subtle matters turned out to be incredibly close to the truth.
A recent study published by the Association of Coffee Drinking With Mortality by Genetic Variation in Caffeine Metabolism, JAMA Internal Medicine of the American Medical Association, states:
Those who regularly drink coffee are much more likely to live another 10 years than those who ignore the drink.
To come to this conclusion, scientists from the American National Cancer Institute conducted an incredibly large-scale statistical analysis. They used data from participants in a large genetic study in the UK - UK Biobank. It numbered about a million volunteers. And for almost 20 years, each of them regularly took tests and diligently answered questions about their health, lifestyle, habits …
With the consent of the authors of UK Biobank, the Americans chose the profiles of those who drank coffee every day. Scientists have analyzed the quantity and quality of the drink (ground or instant, strong or not) and how the health status of coffee lovers has changed over the course of 10 years.
During this decade, 14,225 participants in the UK Biobank study died. But among them there were many more of those who, in principle, did not drink coffee. Scientists have even deduced addiction, which (to quote the study) sounds like this.
The love of coffee is inversely proportional to mortality.
Remarkably, a reduced risk of dying was observed even in those who drank exclusively soluble or decaf coffee and / or abused the drink - drank 8 or more cups a day.
With what this is connected, scientists themselves do not really understand yet. The reasons are assumed to be complex. Coffee has a powerful healing effect on the body:
- The drink (both caffeinated and non-caffeinated) leads Science: Coffee Is the World's Biggest Source of Antioxidants in antioxidants - substances that prevent cell damage.
- Slows down Caffeine may counter age-related inflammation, the development of inflammatory processes in the body.
- Protects Coffee, alcohol and other beverages in relation to cirrhosis mortality: the Singapore Chinese Health Study from cirrhosis and other liver damage.
- Reduces Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, and Tea Consumption in Relation to Incident Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus risk of developing type II diabetes.
In general, drinking coffee is definitely healthier than not drinking. Based on research, scientists even suggest making the drink an important part of a healthy diet.
