Getting dirty in paint is always unpleasant. It is doubly unpleasant if the paint gets on the hair. Of course, it's best to wear a hat, but anything can happen. If you google this question, you will inevitably come across tons of articles about hair dye and you will hardly find something sensible on the essence of the question. So how do you clean up paint, especially dry paint?

Soak in shampoo

This option is the easiest. The soiled strand of hair must be wetted, apply a little regular shampoo and let the paint soak. Then take a fine comb or fine-toothed comb and comb out the paint gently, from roots to ends.

Soap and toothpaste

Lather wet hair with dry dye. Then apply a toothpaste, preferably containing fine abrasive particles. The soap will help the paint peel off more easily, and the toothpaste will mechanically remove the particles: rub it in with massage movements, and then rinse with water.

Olive oil

If the paint is already dry, try olive oil. It copes well with a variety of foreign objects in the hair, for example, with chewing gum and some types of paint, even with oil, sorry for the tautology. Let the oil soak in, massage your hair with your fingertips, then try to remove the paint with the same fine-toothed comb. If it doesn't work the first time, try again. Olive oil by itself will not harm your hair; on the contrary, it has a mild moisturizing effect.

The monkey method

If a child gets dirty in the paint (in fact, not “if”, but “when”, sooner or later this happens to almost all children), you can do without chemistry, in a monkey way. Just wait until the paint is completely dry and remove it with your nails piece by piece.

Deep soak

Even dried paint is vulnerable in high humidity. If the usual methods don't work, try wetting the “colorful” hair section and keeping it moist for several hours at a time. For example, you can lie in a bath or fit a cellophane cap over your head. After several hours of soaking, the paint, if it does not come off, will become much softer and more pliable.

Do not forget after all these manipulations to properly wash your hair with shampoo.

If home methods do not work, you should not experiment with alcohol solutions and play as a young chemist: this can greatly harm your hair. If the paint has gotten on your head, if it was not noticed in time and has dried on tightly, it is better to contact the salon or the nearest hairdresser.
