When I got hold of the book "In Search of Myself", written by Jean Beliveau, who had walked around the Earth, I could not believe that I had not heard about him and his Path earlier. Probably the reason for this is my deliberate ignorance of streaming news. But this made me even more pleased to read the story of how a respectable and successful Canadian at the age of 45 leaves his home, work, life partner and children and goes on foot around the world. He goes to understand where he belongs, to figure out why the world is the way it is, why many people do so many things incomprehensible to you and me. Jean found a lot more!

For 11 years and 2 months, Jean has worn down 54 pairs of shoes. 75, 553 kilometers of wanderings and 64 countries of the world are left behind.

He left his home in Canada with such a stroller and almost no money. He sincerely believed that people around him would support him, he believed that the world would not leave him hungry and homeless. In the end, it happened.

I was especially pleased to compare the sensations of travel to the civilized countries of America, Europe and Asia and to the completely wild countries of Africa, Latin America and the same Asia. Civilization is not always ready to accept a traveler, and not always terrible slums, fatal for every uninvited guest, will be worse than some Tokyo for a simple traveler. A traveler who is not the same as "accepted."

The book "In Search of Yourself" will be especially interesting both for those who like traveling around the world looking for something new and for those who want and are trying to understand the world around them - without arrogant rudeness, condemnation, and neglect.

The world is fragile and each of us in his place keeps it in balance. It took Jean more than 11 years to understand this. We can cope with you a little faster.
