Hocus Focus: And all unnecessary Mac applications are hidden!

If you spend most of your time at work at your Mac, you probably already noticed that constantly open windows with various folders and applications interfere with productive work. Sooner or later, you begin to fight with such a situation, closing all unnecessary things on your own, so as not to make an eyesore. But we live in the 21st century, and it would be high time to automate this business. A small utility called Hocus Focus will help us with this.

After launch, the application will be displayed in the top menu bar and, by clicking the mouse, will show your running programs, for which you can configure the interval for hiding them from the desktop.

For example, we have opened Keynote, in which we are making a presentation. We take pictures directly from one of the folders in the Finder and simultaneously switch tracks in iTunes to create a working atmosphere. We do not need all other applications at the moment, so their windows will only interfere with us. By setting the required time interval, Hocus Focus will hide unnecessary windows from our view.

Each application can be assigned its own time from 15 minutes to 10 hours in quarter hour increments. If you do not use mail for the set half hour, the application will be minimized. This applies exclusively to those applications that were inactive for the designated time interval. In other words, if you specified an inactive time at two o'clock, but still switched to the application after an hour, the countdown will start over. Therefore, it is better to first estimate the time intervals for each of the running applications.

Hocus Focus is completely free and powered by customer support. The latest version of the application can be downloaded from the official website of the developers. Unfortunately, there is no utility in the Mac App Store.

How do you like this idea of organizing the desktop and running applications? If the application was paid, how much would you agree to give for it and why? Let us know in the comments below!
