In general, we do not use everything about what we write, otherwise we would have gone crazy long ago. But recently, having learned that absolutely everyone is sitting on Viber (they also say Viber, Viber), I decided to give it a chance and for several days I have been absolutely delighted!

I recently ran an experiment. I lined the board in two halves. On one side, I wrote "Helpful Calls" and on the other, "Intensive Calls." After that, I regularly answered the phone during working hours for three days. During these days I received about 40 calls from unknown numbers. Only two sticks were on the Useful Calls side (it was a delivery courier and a bank employee who duplicated the call with an e-mail). The rest is incomprehensible conferences, some news and promotions, strange people who got my number somewhere. So I gave up the phone.

But in the family we communicate by phone, but the thought of per-minute tariffication infuriates me. As the Internet with megabyte payments infuriated, so now such a phone infuriates. And paid SMS-ki also enrage. They are not worth it, dear operators.

For this pipe of the Internet, I pay a fixed-fee to my operator and I want to use only it. My operator is Kyivstar, which has no 3G and no 4G. There is only the average quality EDGE that Viber lives on. Many people tell me that the voice quality is better than GSM mobile communication. I'm sure it's still cooler on 3G. It is natural to describe the fact that you have one number everywhere, regardless of the country and operator or host country. Why is this your Viber if you have Skype?

I was a Skype fanatic. But today, forgotten on the phone running Skype - reducing the phone's operating time by three times. And the launch of Skype … This is a real launch of a spaceship when I just need to jump. Everything heats up so much, LOADING starts … and the magic has to wait. Tired of waiting. I want to call as from a phone.

Our hero Viber is simply installed on the phone and hangs somewhere in the background on "push notifications". Have a message? Once - and read. Call? A second and we're already talking. And there is no this thread:

You just call and with a 90% probability the person will answer. Like on the phone.

What's bad?

There is one drawback - the product belongs to one company and it owns everything that happens there. Very uncomfortable at the thought. I would like some kind of TOR solution for telephony and messaging. But I haven't found it yet - it is as convenient and simple. Viber is being developed in Belarus, which does not add optimism about its future. Especially when you consider what level of personal data the application is dealing with.
